Sue Bleakley

These are works which radiate with faith for she believes that no matter how fragile we are and how fragile the world is, the everyday flame can be renewed and rekindled.  This is true for art as for politics and even more so when confronted with the survival capacity and resilience of the Balkanians.   Despite the turmoil in Europe there is always the flickering flame of hope.  Yet it is essential to burn out so that new matter can emerge from the ashes and the residue.   SUE BLEAKLEY asks what is the aftertaste of something that is broken - a broken life, a broken country?  Things may get reduced to ashes and despair, but people do fight their way out of angst and this is the fiery moment of resurgence and epiphany.
